If you feel like you’ve seen the landscapes of Kualoa Ranch before, you probably have. This stunning 4,000-acre nature reserve on Oahu has served as the iconic backdrop for blockbuster films like Jurassic World, Jumanji: Next Level, 50 First Dates, and dozens more. Towering green cliffs, sweeping valleys, and dramatic coastal views make it feel almost unreal—like stepping straight into a movie scene.

But Kualoa Ranch is far more than a famous film location. It’s a working ranch and a deeply protected piece of Hawaiian heritage. The land has been carefully preserved for generations, and throughout our visit, we were struck by how passionately the guides shared the history, culture, and responsibility of caring for this sacred place. You don’t just see the land here—you learn its story.

We spent two unforgettable hours on the UTV Raptor Tour, winding through lush jungle trails, open valleys, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the ocean. While you do have the option to drive yourself, we highly recommend choosing the guided ride-along experience. Our driver was fantastic—fun, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating behind-the-scenes movie trivia and Hawaiian history we never would have discovered on our own. From filming locations to cultural insights, the storytelling added so much depth to the adventure.

Expect to get a little dusty (and maybe muddy depending on the weather), but that’s part of the fun. The views are absolutely worth it, and there are several stops along the way for photos—so keep your camera ready.

Pro Tip: Don’t rush out when your tour ends. Stop by the gift shop and restaurant before you leave. The shop has unique souvenirs you won’t find elsewhere. Although we didn't visit the restaurant it appears to be the perfect place to relax, cool off, and refuel after your adventure. Whether it’s a refreshing drink, a quick bite, or a keepsake to remember the day, it’s the ideal way to wrap up your visit.
